  14.   This is _not_ yet another 'scene-mag'.  It is a mag for
  15. utility-freaks, programmers, virus-haters (it is 'sponsed' by SHI,
  16. Safe Hex International) and everyone else.  This mag is still young,
  17. so _support_ it!  Support is _vital_ for a diskmag, and the Amiga
  18. community _needs_ diskmags like this, ie 'non-scene' mags.  So
  19. download it, read the articles, and then, _write_ some articles and
  20. send them to Resident.  In addition to good (though few) articles,
  21. this mag includes a _free_ ( :) adventure-game!  (More a test of the
  22. game-system than a full-scale game, but better versions will come..)

  24.   Well, there isn't more to say, other than that this should have been 
  25. on AmiNet a long time ago..  Combined problems (Murphys Law.. :) have 
  26. prevented this from happening..  Sorry..

  31. Installing and starting resident - short instructions:

  33. Installing Resident:

  35. a) Installing to floppy
  36.    - Format a disk to put resident onto.
  37.    - Unarchive the Resident4.lha to the disk.
  38.    - If desired, use Install to make disk bootable.
  39.  
  40. b) Installing to hd (1)
  41.    - Unarchive the Resident.lha to a directory on you hd.
  42.    - If not already installed, copy powerpacker.library from
  43.      the libs/ directory into LIBS:
  44.    - If desired, delete the DEVS, L, LIBS and S directories and
  45.      all files _except_ adlrun from the C directory.

  47. c) Installing to hd (2)
  48.    - Install on floppy, then click 'HD-Install' to install on hd.

  51. Starting Resident:

  53.     a) Boot the disk (if installed on floppy).
  54.  or b) Click on the 'Resident4' icon from Workbench.
  55.  or c) Run the 'Res4.exe' file from cli.
